How BarcodeMaker content is written and checked

BarcodeMaker publishes practical instructions for spreadsheet-to-label workflows. This page explains what we test ourselves, when we rely on official sources, and how corrections are handled.

Who writes the guides

The guides are written and maintained by Leekai, an independent developer living in Germany and the creator of BarcodeMaker. Articles are based on the behavior of the current tool, common spreadsheet workflows, print tests, and primary documentation from standards organizations or platform owners.

What we test

  • Opening XLSX, XLS, and CSV files with representative product data.
  • Mapping barcode, product name, price, and SKU columns.
  • Generating multi-page A4 PDFs in a browser.
  • Checking actual-size print settings and physical sheet alignment.
  • Scanning sample Code 128 labels and comparing the returned value with the source cell.

What requires an external source

Barcode standards, GTIN allocation, platform export formats, and formal verification requirements can change or differ by trading partner. For those subjects, we link to primary documentation such as GS1, Shopify, Google, and Adobe rather than presenting BarcodeMaker as the issuing authority.

Important limits

  • BarcodeMaker creates Code 128 symbols for practical internal workflows; it does not issue GTINs.
  • A successful scan in one environment does not replace formal barcode verification when a partner requires it.
  • Printer, paper, scanner, data length, and label dimensions affect the final result.
  • Articles are educational and operational guidance, not legal, compliance, or certification advice.

Advertising and recommendations

Advertising does not determine the conclusions in a guide. When ads are enabled, ad placements are visually separate from instructions and are not presented as recommended products. BarcodeMaker currently does not accept paid rankings or sponsored tool comparisons.

Corrections

If a guide contains an error or no longer matches the application, contact leekai.studio@gmail.com. Include the page URL and the statement that should be reviewed. Material corrections are reflected in the visible review date.
